if you want to get anywhere drawing poses, there are some that you should definately master.

1)standing. pretty simple. shoulders are squared off, standing relaxed. not complicated at all. try drawing standing poses at different angles.
2)sitting; actually more difficult than it looks. the key is to always draw the chair first, very lightly. then draw the stick figure. finally, fill in the blanks. this is a very good pose to master.
3) walking. this one is a simple version, in reality, you can walk very differently depending on you mood. once you master this, you might like to experiment a little. there's drooping of the shoulders, and legs are always bent for sadness, or the chest is thrust out, and the chin is down, with stiff, long strides to implicate anger. mess around with it. :D
4) skipping. remember that the legs are always bent, the posture is straight, and the heel of the foot never touches the ground. other wise it looks like some kind of freaky march.
5) just so you know, this can also be an example of BAD skipping. but here its just some loose dancing. this is just something basic, I mean, there are a bunch of dance poses, and I'll probably cover those in the future. if youu want to expand on dancing, just reference from interenet videos or pictures. *shrug*
6)leaning. in this pose, the center of balance is actually aligned with whatever the character leans against. the back and legs are stiff, because they are supporting the body
